What year did they start putting these in Jeep tj wrangkers?? I have an 2000 Tj sport and it doesn't have it and my kid has a 2006 tj with it and it;s bad and I haven't found a new one yet any help would be great

Be sure to modify the new one you get with a zerk so as to be able to lubricate the upper bushing. If you don't it will fail just like the current one has.

Why don't you fix the one that's bad since you can't get a new one for a month. Like Fog said you're gonna need to modify the new one to make it last anyway. You can go ahead and modify the old one and if it's bad anyway you have nothing to lose. The thread Peterpsc pointed you to is a long read but worth your time and will show you how to fix the old one and modify the new one. Here is a good summation thread of the problem too

It is easy. That said plenty of things can go wrong. I've done several with no problems. There is a step-by-step in the failure thread. Follow along and you should be in good shape.

Also I can do it for you. I'd have to charge you for parts, supplies, and time. I live in Baltimore (about 2 hours). PM me if you're interested.

Good luck. Welcome to the club!
