Hey everyone,

I have some questions regarding the OBDII Monitors. I recently went to get my car smogged in CA and it didn't pass and the shop put four categories on not ready which are; catalyst, oxygen sensor, evaporative system, and oxygen sensor heater. Unfortunately, the guy at the shop did not go into detail on everything on how I could potentially fix the issue. With the research done I saw drive cycle in the mix but I am not sure where to go from here. Any kind of help would be appreciated!

Probably need the code numbers.... Try turning on/off the ignition switch 2 time and the leave it on third time, and get the codes in the mileage/odometer window, or borrow OBD II code reader, with the codes you can find the description of what computer code are defining and may give clues what to do to fix them...

One of many how to read codes for Jeep on Youtube...

OBD II code "general" listing for most vehicles...

The evap errors can often be a bad purge solenoid or valve or simply just a bad gas cap.
O2 sensor errors are usually just that. O2 sensors. They are common wear parts.
The catalyst error could be tied to the O2 sensor errors.

As mentioned, exact codes will help greatly. And the info jtec asked for.
