Noise from pcv valve

Hello fellow wj/wg owners!

I have been having strange noise from my engine compartment lately (actually 5-6 months). Checked it many times and always thought it was comming from the idler puller or ac compressor bearing. The noise is like if you go down hill with rollerblades/skateboard with really bad bearings. Today ran then engine and felt around if I could feel any vibrations on the ac pump or idler pulley. But no, nothing that's not normal! But I put my fingers on the pcv valve, on man! It was vibrating like a girls bedroom toys.
Only the pcv valve vibrated, not the entire engine!
Is it possible that a pcv valve can cause a loud noise ? Can I test remove the pcv valve and start the engine or will it ruin the engine?

Thanks in advance !

Ps: English is not my first language :)

I haven't gor much help, but went to a Dodge Dakota forum, read that i can just unplug the PCV valve and see if the noise disappears.
As easy said as done.
Without the PCV valve everything sounds fine!
Ordering a new mopar PCV valve tomorrow!

Will record the sound and post here to help other people in the future.

they will make noise... it's normal.. there' is a small metal piece which acts as a check valve... if it doesn't make noise it's clogged up and needs replacing.

I can talk about this...I just took mine off to clean it.

Blowing through it will confirm that there's a check valve in it that vibrates when air is flowing through it. It is correct operation.

Cheers!

I have this problem right now with my zj, and theres no way its normal. Mine sounds like something is dieing insside the cab, thought it was coming from my dash.opened my hood and found the noise was coming from the pcv valve...i was vibrating like crazy! and buzzing! like pretty loud...never heard anything like it, wonderinng if its clogged or something. And also my check engine light came on and im getting code 43...misfire apparently...
And go figure, this all happens right when im trying to sell the dam thing

If it's dieseling, you have more than the usual amount of air building up in the Crank case. Combined with the CEL for a misfire, I'd say you have a compression issue. It seems you have a larger issue. Being that you have a ZJ, it might be best to post in that room but it may be all the same if you have the 4.0
