I have a 2011 3.6 Grand Cherokee with Delphi FG0856 fuel pump from factory (Mopar 5145585AD). Recently it has started to make some noises, so I decided to order new one from amazon. I knew that Mopar 5145585AD fuel pump is made by Delphi and the OEM Part Number is FG0856. So I went to amazon and ordered it as it is much cheaper than getting it from dealer.

I've just today received the package and was so angry cause I thought they messed up and sent me wrong pump. Design of these two pumps are completely different, although they have same part number. I was thinking about returning this back to amazon, but honestly this is troublesome for me as I live not in the US and used forwarding company to get that item from amazon. So, I did some check on Delphi official website and figured out that Delphi confirms that this pump fits 3.6 2011 WK2.

I tried to search Mopar part number on google but did not find any new design blue colored fuel pump, despite the fact that Delphi updated their design.

So my question is, does someone know anything about these new pumps? Should I go ahead and install it, or return back somehow?

Parts outlets will check your vin against the part you order to assure you get the part that fits. Otherwise contact them or a dealer parts counter.

My GC has 180k miles and a long start. I’m going to replace the main fuel pump as well as the transfer pump but I have reasonable suspicion the return check valve is a contributor to the issue. Even if it is not malfunctioning I’d still like to install a new check valve while I have the tank dropped. Does anyone have the part number for that fuel return check valve?

The Jeep does not have a transfer pump. You have the main pump on one side and a fuel pickup on the other. There is a "siphon" hose that connects the two sides. There are fuel level sensors in each side and there will be electrical connections.

Have you replaced the fuel pump relay?

I'll have to doublecheck on the return valve.

What makes you think it has a return valve? There is only one fitting on the rail, which is for the fuel from the tank.

There are check valves on the vapor lines and fill hose.

I may be mistaken about the a check valve being separate from the pump. Just saw there is a check valve on the pump assembly. As for the "transfer pump" I may be using a different term as that is what TQ calls it around 22:15 in the video below.

I've seen discussions on the fuel pump relay but can't find that part number and from other posts it seems to be hard to find (those are old posts though). I'd love to try that relay first if you can suggest where I would find it?

There is a fuel pump thread indexed in the maintenace/repair sticky thread. If you had the recall done is a standard widely available relay, if not, its the TIPM or TIPM bypass hack.

Youtube presenters don't always get it right, check the video comments. Just wanted to be sure that you knew there was only one electric pump.
