i suppose it depends on what came in your jeep. there are lots of options and stuff that effect which springs were put in but i would go with the 7" so it doesn't settle and end up low in the back over time

 

ok the jeep did not come with any upgrades to the suspension so whatever is the normal for that. I am planning on doing the upgrade to the HD springs for some future possible towing (this and replacing the shocks with some Bilstein shocks)

 

Why buy twice ? The Crown Automotive Heavy Duty XJ leaf springs have a higher spring rate ( useful for towing ) and are about 1" taller than stock leaf springs. Coil spring spacers will level out the Jeep if necessary and stock shocks will still work.

Lift is a factor of the spring arch.

Spring Rate is the amount of weight required to deflect a spring one inch. The lower the Spring Rate, the softer the spring. The softer the spring, the smoother the ride.

Load Rate is the amount of weight a spring is designed to carry when deflected to a certain height.

Does this all look right for a standard height XJ? My goal is to upgrade the springs with the upgraded ones to allow for better towing capabilities, I don't go off-road with it so i'm not wanting to lift it or anything like that.

Yes, it works and rides great! It did bump it up a hair over stock but that's fine with me. Always nice to walk up to it from the back and see the yellow Bilstein shocks peaking out from under the Jeep
