i hope someone can help i have 2006 liberty limited 3.7. i need to replace the bank 1 sensor 1 which is before the cat on the left side. i was able to break lose the 02 sensor with correct tool. problem is i can't get to wire to un hook it from the harness. is there a specific procedure to follow here i do not have the shop manual.

Not sure if the 06 sensor is in the exact same place as my 02 but can you reach it from up top? The connector on mine is on the lower inner fender area out from the head. It would still be a blind shot but you may be able to get it.

ok i found the plug it is in the back of the engine part of small harness which is connected to a very large harness on the fire wall. its a two man job after you disconnect the 02 sensor from the exhaust pipe. someone has to fish the o2 sensor up from up top. you also have to loosen the large harness from the firewall so you have enough slack to get to plug from up top. someone with long arms will have to disconnect the plug while keeping the other side from sliding down in back of the engine. you can then connect the new o2 sensor to the plug and fish the other end of the o2 down towards the back of the engine, then you go under the car and screw it into the exhaust. they put the plug in the back of the engine i was able to a copy of the shop manual it shows the plug on side of the engine its not there at least on 2006. i hope this helps someone else good luck.
