I had a misfire on #5 this am. The plugs were changed about a month ago and it has run fine since then - so I don't think that's the problem. I'm hoping it was just some bad gas. Seemed to run fine after the misfire (heard a pop in my muffler, and idled roughly for a minute or two) ...occured when I started it this am.

Any idea how long it takes for the computer diagnostics/error code to disappear or reset itself - assuming (hoping) that the problem was a one-time thing? The check engine light is still on. Thanks!

Had a similar situation where I replaced the TPS and the light stayed on. Finally I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and that took care of it.

Do the battery-disconnect thing, or wait it out. the code resets after a certain number (I don't know how many) full start-stop cycles. Full cycles are determined by more than just turning the car off and on. Has to do with temp, or time, or something like that.

Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will step in with more details.
