Part numbers 4883496AA and 4883497AA, but I doubt you'll like the price. You may want to see if you can find them in a parts yard.
Good grief! Of
course they are discontinued by MOPAR. Doesn't even say if for one or two! Probably don't even get dinner and a kiss.
@hokahay
I found a link where they had 'em in stock, but at $70 each I'd rather scour fleabay or try aftermarket.
Yikes, those are all super expensive. I'll have to check the parts yard near me. No way i wanna spend that for something so little. 😞

One beef I have with Mopar is how many parts are discontinued. Once the vehicle is 10 years old I guess they no longer feel the need to continue supporting it.
I think it is more like they are no longer legally obligated to provide parts.

Here I actually replaced some items because I knew they would be discontinued before they actually failed on my Jeep. Just so I could be sure I got MOPAR replacements. Radiator, water pump (while we were at at), alternator, starter and cat converter come to mind. I just view it as preventative maintenance. She is after all a seventeen year old vehicle.

I'm not sure what I will do in twenty years because I plan on her still being my DD.

How about the actual struts?

My '06 Red Ruby LJ smacked me in the head yesterday 'cause the struts are gone (after only 14 years, jeez!) What replacement is everyone using? I open the tailgate about once a month, on average.
Thanks, all!

I purchased a pair from https://www.gasstrutguys.com.au/ for the same reason. mine have been shot for ages now and smacking me in the head too was the last straw

I'm in Australia, no doubt there's a USA equivalent supplier such as https://www.quadratec.com/products/55400_000.htm

If you want to replace them here is what I found (There are plenty of similar ones) but have not ordered them since my DIY "fix".

They are not expensive but here is a solution especially if rarely used.

My struts on new hardtop in '09 have gotten a bit weak especially in the winter (cold weather) but have not decided to replace mine yet. This is not my original idea, I saw it long ago on one of these forums.

Get a piece of 3/4" PVC about 11" long, remove (carefully pry off) the top of one strut from the glass end, slip the PVC over the strut & reinstall the strut to the glass. When you open the glass the PVC slides down to the bottom of the strut & drops over the end of the cylinder. That then holds the glass up. Here are some shots of when I did mine.

Very ingenious! I like that...
