I recently replaced both trans cooling lines and now every time I hit a bump my cluster and radio turns off then back on. I've checked all fuses and grounds for the cluster but cant find the ground for my radio. Another thing if I go over a bump heavy enough the entire engine shuts off. I got no clue if any one has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it

there are three main things that need to be grounded to each other
1) battery negative
2) engine/alternator/starter
3) unibody

alternator has to have a path to pump electrons to unibody to power PCM and radio and lights and cluster (electrons actually flow from ground as they are negative charge particles)
that path is the engine to unibody ground strap
typically rear of engine to firewall

I have a 99 XJ 4.0 and I’m having the exact same problem. Anytime I’m driving and I run over or hit a bump or drive on a rough surface RPM gauge jumps and the vehicle jerks and the engine will shut off. Please let me know what you did or planning to do to fix this issue thanks.

@ Stompy8488 All that means is starting will be intermittent. The "engine running" battery cable goes to the PDC. That is the one that powers everything other than power to the starter. If cable is bad, lights will go off, engine will stall, IOW, you will be able to quickly find the issue. On some models, the wire you discovered has a fusible link. When that cable shorts to ground. Large quantities of smoke followed by fire are the results.
