I have my nieces 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 4.0 in my shop now. She brought it in for a window and door lock issue. When she brought it in i notice it idling very rough. After fixing other issuse start the vehicle to pull it out and it died. Hooked up my cheapo scan tool no codes. turned key 3 times to get codes off cluster and got TPS code and P1489 and 1490. Installed a new TPS still no start but the TPS code is now gone. Codes P1490 and P1489 remain and cant be cleared. I have tested the ASD circuit it is good. I have power to injectors, TPS, Crank and cam sensors.
Metered the harness to the power distribution box fron fan connector. no issues. Removed the the Fan HI and Fan Lo relays and metered pins. With key off i have 12 volts on the constant supply pins. but 10.5 on ones to PCM.
Can P1489 and P1490 for fan actually inhibit jeep from starting?
