Hello all - just bought my second jeep (my first was a '97 tj - gone now), a 1999 Cherokee Sport, with 'Grizzly' labels on the front (can't remember if it's on the doors or the front quarter panels - it's still on the lot).

Anyone know what model/option package this was? The only thing I came up with on Google or this site pointed to a wheel package, but it would seem to be silly to paste on the body just for wheels.

Anyway, looking forward to modifying this bad boy, it's in pretty close to mint for its age, doesn't look like its ever seen dirt and has around 78k miles.

Cheers all.

Btw - see post #10 for pics.

Only thing I've ever seen is the Grizzly tire group option you mentioned but I've never seen a Jeep Grizzly edition, decal or label.

A possibility is that it may have, or had, Grizzly products. There are grizzly tube bumpers, rails, etc for Jeeps so someone may have taken the Grizzly bumper decal and stuck it on there, it is a nice decal as those things go.

Or maybe the PO had a Yamaha Grizzly and really, really liked it

Or the PO liked grizzly...

well, this could get weird

Probably just a sticker someone like

Thanks StvDiego - that's not something I was thinking of. I take possession early next week, and as soon as I get my post requirement up, I post some pics of the decals - they look professionally applied (maybe dealership option/package?) - the paint is near perfect all around, so I doubt the owner would just have stuck them on willy nilly.

I just Carfaxed it an it's an east coast truck - from Nova Scotia Canada (I'm in Ontario). Maybe it was a dealer there trying to package some aftermarket stuff.

Cheers

btw - this looks like a great community :2thumbsup:

Pics

Ok - finally, here are the pics. Sorry I'm a bad camera guy, so not sure if anyone will have seen this before. Fingers crossed the link will work.

The last one shows the rough positioning. The only thing I can see that may be different are the body colored running boards, but that may not be it. I can try to take better pics later if it matters (or I'll get my wife to do it :p )

Good news too - I just checked and I have the 8.25 Chrysler rear axle. Woot.

Cheers

Nice xj, it looks just like a regular sport, but with dealer installed graphics on it.
