Avital/DBALL2 XKLOADER2 Instructions

I had a phone conversation tonight about how to set up the DBALL2 firmware using the XKLOADER2. It's been so long, I didn't quite remember how to do it. Therefore, I did a test run and took screen shots. I'm posting this now with rough instructions. The fella' I talked to this evening is calling me tomorrow and I'm going to have him use this thread as a guide. Once he gets this all figured out, I'll edit my Avital installation guide with these instructions included for those who want to flash their own DBALL. Bear with me here. I'm going to leave this thread open for now for anyone who may see an error. Please comment if you have helpful advice. I'm doing this on a whim and in a hurry so there are bound to be mistakes... For now. :)

Navigate to www.xpresskit.com and download the software.

After downloading, run the software to install.

Follow the instructions and close when complete.

If the above screen shows you do not have .NET framework installed, navigate to Microsoft to install the newest framework.

Connect your device to the computer.

Once your computer has installed the drivers, connect the DBALL to the XKLOADER2.

Open the xpresskit.com website using Internet Explorer.

The website will see if your device is connected. In this example, I did not have the DBALL2 connected.

To install firmware, you'll need to create a FREE account...

Once you create an account, select your vehicle from the drop down boxes.

Select your desired firmware.

The website will then install the firmware to your DBALL2. Do NOT unplug anything while the firmware is installing.

OK - Like I said, this is a very rough start. I think most of it is on par but I don't have a blank DBALL2 on hand to perfectly test these instructions. If anyone has comments to further this, please join in. I'll have our fellow jeeper follow these and add his thoughts as well before I add them to the Avital thread.

Thanks!

Direct tech site lite accts terminated

Just so your updated I went to check out the Directechs site ...

and for those of us who flash our own modules with the XKloadeder2 if you had whats classified as a Lite account you will no longer be able to flash it via their website or download the firmware . They now require you to have an authorized dealer acct "probably involves paying them" .. I flashed my module on October 22 and the cut off was Oct 31 2017. I went to test out the site and yea account is no longer valid ... you can probably still get it flashed at a car stereo/alarm store.. IDK since I pretty much do everything on my Jeep myself LOL ..... I have trust issues I guess...... here is a copy of the email I got from them ..

Just wanted to make sure everyone is aware ...

Dear Valued Customer,

If you are receiving this email it's because your access to Directechs.com is registered as a "Lite" account and is not associated with a direct dealer or authorized distributor account. As we launch our new platforms and for you to benefit from programs that we have planned, we need to get everyone registered into correct accounts.

So how does this affect me?
Here's the tricky part...in order to register for tech support under a dealer account or under an authorized distributor account we need to delete the generic account and your access to Directechs will be shut off.

What do you need to do?
The generic account will be terminated as of October 31st. If you're on this email this means you need to get Directechs access registered through an authorized dealer account or thru an authorized distributor account that you're actively supporting with Directed product purchases.

The process is fairly simple...after October 31st have your owner or authorized distributor enable your email for Directechs access and simply re-register your email on Directechs.com

If you have any questions, please contact either your sales representative or our customer care team at 1-800-876-0800 to assist you further.

Sincerely,

DIRECTED
