I know that there is a lot of us that are running ARB's front and/or rear in our Jeeps. I looked around trying to find some of the issues that people have had and decided that maybe we should have once central thread for everyone to post what there issue/problem(s) like pushing fluid out the vent tube, not engauging/dissengauging as well as other and what was done to fix them. It may also make a good sticky so that everyone can see find it easier. Also people can post where they mounted their switches and compressors. Pictures are more then welcome here.

My ARBs have stopped working in cold temps (25 degrees or so).

Don't own a TJ but run F/R ARB's(HP44/RockJock60) and no issues yet.Had a ARB in my 8.25 for 5 years/50,000miles with zero issues.

The main ones I've heard are...............

1-gear oil being pushed into the air line and pump
2-cut o-rings from install, leaking air into the pumpkin
3-weak side gears for the Ford 9" ARB's

Well thats a good start. I know that they are fairly dependable, thus why I picked them. I do know people have had isseus with them though this post..... maybe I need to move it to another section though as well.... Thanks for the inputs keep them coming.....

Most problems with ARB lockers are a result of an improper install, as long as you make sure the shop doing the work really knows what there doing you'll be happy with the lockers.

ARB did have one on-going problem in the D30 application but is has since been rectified with the current model. The case bolts would back out which if not caught, could cause complete failure. ARB corrected this by going to a 2 piece case. Detroits still have this problem.

Is this just with Detroits in D-30's or Detroits in Gen?

had an issue with the compressor leaking. Called ARB support and they walked me through a quick fix that would let me inspect the valve and clean it out easily on the trail.

Any problems you have and I suspect ARB will stand behind them and help however they can.

D30's....install requires good preload on the carrier and the use of a case spreader to achieve it to prevent or minimize the bolts backing out..
Ok gotcha, I believe I read about some arb failures last year about this same issue, glad to see it has been redesigned. Thank you for info Robert:)

From what I have read the biggest arb failure is not having it installed by a proper arb installer who knows the ropes, other then that nick nacks like o rings ect so forth.

I havent had a problem with them down to -40, but a lot of people I know have had the copper air lines sucked into the ring gear when the oil is really cold and thick. I fixed this by running the copper tube out the diff at the 11 oclock position on both axles like this

For the record, my D44 is new but I have been running the D30 for over 3 years now.

If it's -40 my air lockers working are the last thing on my mind, I'm staying inside.

I don't care how hot she is she's going to wait till it warms up lol
