4.0 WJ 2003 Laredo.

AutoZone free test: "Voltage Regulator Failed. Diodes Passed." "12.72V Charge 100%."

So it's charging the battery to 100%. But, assuming this test is accurate, what is the impact of a failed voltage regulator? Everything seems to be functioning fine. I recently got a new battery as the prior one tested bad.

The impact is that you now need a replacement pcm as the regulator is internal to it.

Slide down to your local pick and pull and grab a matching part number pcm from a wreck, avoid reman or repaired pcm's like the plague. Plenty of threads here from members that chronicle the issues that come from them as they are mostly cores being resold that were someone else's problem to start with.

Send me a pm with your email and I'll flash your replacement for you so it's plug and play ready for your skim keys and security when it comes back.

alternator was installed in jeep or bench tested.
Did they check for codes - there are codes for field circuits.
System is a simple 2 wire field, battery voltage from ASD relay and control side goes to PCM.
Is there voltage on field wires?
