I pretty much run whatever I want in all my vehicles between 10w30 or 5w30. It depends on the time of year. I'll run thinker oil in the summer and thinner in the winter. In my zj with the 4.0 I actually run 15W40 which is the same that I use in my full sizes. Running thicker oil in my zj it made it run better. 210K and it was worked bad by to POs son. I would think that you could run whichever. Where I live has extreme temperature changes that's why I run one weight of oil one time a year and the other the other time of year.

i use thicker oil like 10w 40 bc i have 153,xxx and to me thicker oil is better for the wear on the engine. my 93 runs great on 10w 40

 

10-40 if you have lower oil pressure due to engine wear, but normally you are suppose to run 10-30. Thats what i use. I use Castrol GTX

 

i use valvoline synpower 10w30 synthetic in mine all year round

 

I run 10-W30 half synthetic half conventional and it runs without a stutter. I used to run full conventional but it runs better now.

 

i run mobile 1 15w-50 year round and it gets below 0 around these parts

It is a much better oil than what Jeeps came with ...

In my older stuff, I like 15w/40 ...

Also, I have no problem with going over 5,000 miles before oil changes

I'm a vavoline chick. All my vehicles run valvoline high mileage sybthetic blend and I run my saturn valvoline high mileage synthetic blend with lucas when I can afford it. Everything I have seen from valvoline since they over hauled there products I like.

I use Walmart 'Supertech' 10/30, because I like my motor oil to be like a box of chocolates....... you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes its Pennzoil, sometimes its Castrol, sometimes its Quaker State, etc. Just depends who's selling the cheapest oil to Walmart's distributor that day.

 

Use motor oil. I'm tired of these threads. Please search and see the dozens of oil brands and types that different people use.
