Daughter called and says the turn signal arm in not returning when left blinker is on.
She has to do manually the right side works ok.
She mentioned the arm is loose so I need to check for loos screws.

Are there any directions for a 2005 JGC to replace the turn signal arm.
I would like to check it before I order one and find out I dont need.

thanks

I just got the new replacement stalk directional assembly.
I installed and it still wont return with a right turn. Left turn it will return.
Reason I replaced was the blinker handle was very loose like broken and thought it was the problem why it would not work.
Do you think maybe I did not install correctly meaning the steering wheel was not centered, would that cause it to still not return.
Daughter is going to come by next Friday and I will take apart again and make sure wheel is straight and reinstall.

Any suggestions and can i see in side the steering wheel with the blinker off and see if something else is broke.
Like I stated it will return on left turn but noght right turn.

thanks

I also tried an oem signal arm and still the same problem. So I ordered part # 05143321AB return signal cam arm. Its located on the back side under the clock spring internal under the Steering wheel.
remove the signal and wiper control arms 2 screws each.
I removed the steering wheel air bag make sure battery cables are removed from battery.
Remove the airbag cables
Remove the Radio steering wheel cables
Remove the center bolt from the steering wheel
Mark steering wheel location so you will get back to same position
Use steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel
I then removed the steering wheel with a steering wheel puller.
I then removed 2 screws to the clock spring and was able to pull it off the steering wheel column.
on back side there are 3 tabs to snap out the return signal cam.
snap in new cam and reverse install all parts.

Works like a charm less than an hours work and the part was $1.56 plus shipping total $5.75.
Old signal return cam had 2 worn tabs that did not make contact with signal control arm to auto return off.

I really appreciate the post-install follow-up describing how you replaced the signal cam on your 2005 GC. If you're still following this post, I'd really appreciate some more thoughts. I think I'm in the same position (my new post at the bottom).

It looks like part 05143321AB isn't being made anymore, so I'd have to go to a pick-pull yard. Also I've never done any repair this significant before. Given your own experience (and my lack of experience using a pick-pull or doing major vehicle repair), do you think this is something safe/worth doing on my own, or if I should get a mechanic at this point?
