2004 WJ Driver door wiring harness

I have been fighting with the driver side not being able to lock the doors unless it was in JUST THE RIGHT position. Knowing it was a wire problem, and knowing how tight it is in there, I just put it off. Last night I was suddenly not able to roll up the passenger window. So today I opened up the boot and found 2 broken wires (black and Orange with white strip). I fixed these and that solved the problem. However, I saw several other wires that may need attention soon.

Where does the door wiring harness connect in to the the rest of the wiring. Is it possible to get just the door harness and replace it. Or am I looking at a fishing job of pulling individual wires thru?

Since I was working on it in blazing sun I just have temporary fix in place (wire nutted some extra wire) so I know I will be back in there soon to do it right. Would like to have other options available when I do it.

thanks!

WJ Front door jam wire repair

Not really what I was looking for. But seems to be the most thorough. What I wanted to find was a replacement of the wire harness leading from the driver's side to the door. Still looking.

I was working on an Overland yesterday at a recycle yard. Wish I had read your need before driving out to it.
May be a day or two before I can return. If/when I do I will try and trace the harness from the open door into the Grand Cherokee. I want to see if the harness wires inside are continuous or simply can be unplugged so you can easily replace the harness from the dash to the door without having a dozen splices to do the job.

Pick n pull

Just thought of another option. I see you are located in Dayton, IN. I found the zip code there to be 47941.
I also found the closest Pick N Pull do it yourself junk yard to you is in Hammond at 2015 East Summer St. As of today 7/2 they have over a dozen WJs you could look at ranging from 1999-2004.

Wish I had that kind of selection here.

I realize pulling the wire harness from one of these may not be the best choice if they too are suffering from wire damage. Perhaps close inspection of all the wires once removed from the WJ might be the way to go.

Your post was just what I was looking for. Did some work under the dash. I was on my way to workwhen everything in my Lf door quit working, except the speaker. Being sure i must have left a plug not seated, I've spent the last week in search of the problem. Thanks for your post. Peace of mind is priceless.
