According to my documentation it is in the left front engine compartment but I do not have a picture of it.

I know it is a matchbox sized metal component bolted to one of the vertical metal members near the radiator....from a picture I saw some time ago.
I have a CRD so cannot have a look at mine.

I will try find it in the parts catalogue!;)

I got the one from the dealership and it doesnt have a heat sink... I think they sold me a retured one. When I asked he said, he said, we dont sell used or returned relays. I told him. but the packaged was stapled together. I didnt open it. You gave it to me like that. anyway. so i have to take all that apart... Bugger. I was hoping for a quick resolution. Guess I better get up early tomorrow.

i have a 2005 jeep liberty sport 3.7 L, all stoc. I just replaced the 2 40 amp relays, the radiator, the cooling fan, and the radiator resivor, and now my cooling fan turns on from the time I hook the battery up, till the time I disconnect the battery. Some one said it is the cooling fan relay, but I can't find it.
HELP!

Should be in the power distribution center (PDC) under the hood. One of those big relays in there but I don't have the schematic for that year. In 02 and 03 (maybe some 04s??) there was a large relay on the inner fender under the battery tray. After that I think they all had the relay in the PDC.

Yeah. I took the battery tray off and there is nothing under there. And both high and low arr in the box, and I replaced both of those. I had another mechanic come over and look at it, and he said there is a 3rd relay in the 05 liberty, but neithet of us could fine any location for it. My radiator cooling fan won't shut off unless I disconnect the battery whenever I shut the engine off. I don't know why. The engine could be totally cold, and the fan, which is brand new, is still running.

My 04 does does not have the relay mounted on the fender. Just the high and low relays in the PDC.

what did you replace the relays with and why did you replace them? Have you tried reusing the old relays?

This is from the 04 FSM.... Maybe it changed in 05...
