I'm looking for a front dana 30 axle for my tj. looks like they came with 4:10 and 4:11 gear ratio's are they really so close they are the same? I have been told thats the case...

i have been curious about the same thing, and i have read somewhere that you can in fact run them together without problems, which surprised me. i seriously doubt i'd be able to find that thread again though...

Yes, My TJ came stock with 4.10/4.11 Gears

Non-Rubicon Jeeps come with the factory with front and rear axle ratios that are .01 apart. Like 4.10/4.11, 3.54/3.55 and 3.73/3.74. My 4.88 gearing is actually 4.88/4.89. The reason is that the front and rear axles have different ring gear diameters and it is just easier to manufacturer them with that slight difference.

Offroad in 4x4, that .01 ratio difference makes absolutely zero difference. When turning left or right, there is more of a wheel speed difference between the front and rear than is given by even that .01 ratio difference. The tires slip against the loose traction to allow the slight front/rear tire rpm differences to be a complete non-issue. :)
