I need more info about your driving style,

how many miles is your engine had ?

your driving style is mostly city ? mostly high way, or both ? short trip ?

If you drive mostly city short trip, then buy any regular oil of your choice of filter, Napa gold, wix, pure one, motorcraft. and change it every 3k miles

if you driving mostly highway then get any synthetic ( mobil 1, quaker state, pennzoil, vavoline, of your choice with filter of your choice ( napa gold, wix, pure one, motorcraft, mobil 1, K&N ) and change it every 7K+ miles

If you got high miles engine, have few leak here and their, burn a little oil, then use any high miles engine oil, quaker state high miles ( 3K+ ), pennzoil high mile ( 3k+ ), vavoline max life high mile ( 5k+ ), mobil 1 high miles ( 7K+ )

if you driving alot high way, or long trip any regular oil can go up to 5k miles. Stick with any oil filter i list above and you will be fine, check out autozone, advance auto part, napa, oreilly.... for their ad, they alway have oil and filter combo for lowes price, like advance auto part having 5qt mobil 1 with mobil 1 filter for 28 dollar, cant beat that price.:2thumbsup:

if your running basic oil every 3000 miles, but if you take short trip and dont drive it allot might want to change it sooner then 300 miles.

if using synthetic can go to 5000 or even past 7000 miles depend on which one you get.

like stated above we need more info on your jeep. but its like every other car that needs oil, you have to do it regularly

Next time you change it, send a sample into...I forget the place but you should be able to google it. They will test it and send you a report telling you what kind of shape your engine is in and recommend an interval for oil changes.

I sent mine in a few years ago after 5,000 miles and they said it could easily go another 5,000 on the oil I sent in to them (different vehicle and I have not sent in a sample on my jeep yet). You do want to change your filter every 4000 - 5000 though and then add a fresh quart to top it off after the filter change.

Oil is very resilient especially if you keep it clean with new filters every so often.

I had several used oil analyses done on my 4.7L, using several diffferent oils. I settled on German Castrol, with a good filter. I start thinking about changing my oil around 8,000 miles.

I change mine every 3K. That is how I have been doing it for 178K now.
X2
I do this on all my vehicles, and have never (knocking on wood w/rabbits foot) had a mechanical problem with an engine. May be excessive for some, but I don't argue with success.
