I work at a car dealership so i've been through the automatic washes tons of times! my tj is sitting on 33's and a 4 in lift (2.5 shorter than yours), and it was always fine with my jeep and the hard top. i would have to re-adjust the side mirrors after but its all good. now that i have a light bar, soft top and a cb antenna... hand washes for me!
Thanks///I also think the sensors dont work as well with the hood bein so high, and the clearance below...A Jeep is really alot different shape then most vehicles..

Auto washes just do such poor jobs. I prefer to just hand wash my vehicles. I have run my TJ through a brush-less wash several times, but it tends to leak around the windows.

We have a "touchless" car wash near our house. It sucks....But, it has a under carriage cleaner and wheel cannon feature that works great for loosening the mud stuck under the Jeep after a long camping weekend. I run it through that, go home, then finish the job with a hose. Starting underneith, the mud comes of much easier, and by the time I am done, the rest of the Jeep is dry and I can see what a crappy job the carwash did!

We have two touch-less washes in town. In the winter I used to run mine through to wash the salt off the undercarriage. One of the washes would not work on the Jeep (33" & 4" lift) because the sensors couldn't see it or something. It would come around on the passenger side and turn right near the mirror hit the side of the Jeep, stop, and go into alarm.

The second wash in town worked just fine. That is until I put 35's on and a body lift, now I'm too tall.

funny that most people here are commenting about washing you jeep yourself are from the sunny rust free west. i run mine through mike's in the winter with the hardtop and i am running 35s and 5" of lift. i only go through to get all of the salt off though. all other times hand washed.

I saw your Jeep clean ONCE.
