I would like to know if anyone can tell me how far my Jeep will need to be lifted to clear any of the large 35" tires, like Boggers and Baja Claws. Thanks in advance for any and all imput! :)

I have narrow track axles and I'm running 35 x 12.5 ProComp X-Terrains with six inches of lift. With the front sway bar disconnected I get occasional rub when off road in twisty stuff.

Keep in mind that bogger don't just rub, they grab peices of metal and bend them out of the way! I have 4" suspension and 1" body, and with my TJ flares, I can easily fit 35's with no rubbing at all. These are on narrow trac axles too.

Minimum of 6 inches of lift for 35's

Minimum of 6", hmmm, don't think so.

71 CJ-5, 2 1/2" Rancho springs, NO body lift, and extended shackles = 35x12.5 BFG A/Ts. The front fenders are cut now, but weren't before. I get some rub on the inner rear fender. I have about 3 1/2" of backspacing.

Flexed awesome yesterday on the trail.

There is no set amount of lift needed for anyone tire size. You vehicle might ride different than the next persons. What do you plan on using your Jeep for?? Are you afraid to cut some sheet metal?

if you dont want to shred your expensive tires i would go with 8 in. of lift and as far as the turning issue all you need to do is add one standard washer to your steering stops ( looks like a bolt sticking out of the top of your caliper or spindle ) for every inch you went over stock tire size... its that simple

The Jeep will be used as a dedicated off road toy. I have other cars that I drive daily. This one is for the trails only.

What are you supposed to cut though? The fenders are flat. I guess you could get rid of a tiny bit if you cut the edge, but I doubt if that would gain more than 1/2 of an inch, maybe less.

Is it me, or is everyone who is saying 35s won't rub not taking into account the BOGGER aspect. It is a wide tire with lugs that just grab everything. Become friends with the sawzall. It works wonders  .

The bogger aspect is why I'm saying that cutting will be necessary. I'm running 14.5" wide TSL's and they definitely rub a ton with 6" lift without cutting.
