European XJ's - What differences?

Just curious what the differences are between Domestic XJ's and Export XJ's. Obvious ones I can think of are:

Diesel
R/H Drive
Fender Marker Lights
Tail Lights
Headlamp Aiming

Anyone know of anything else?

I think I remember reading somewhere that we Europeans get rear seat head rests as standard while the US market doesn't? Electric headlight level adjustment? Most euro countries actually drive on the right anyway except us Brits and 1 or 2 others. Also in Britain we measure in miles and yards so we probably get standard US dials.

Apparently you could adjust the vertical aim of your headlamps, I think they came with 3 or 4 settings.....not sure what you'd need to adjust them for tho...

My XJ has this feature (if it was working!). The idea is that when you have a trunk full of gear and a heavy trailer weighing the rear down you can lower the headlight beam to avoid dazzling oncoming motorists. A very useful feature in my opinion.

I think it is almost universal now. There is just a little switch on the dash somewhere so you can lower your lights when you see them shining on the headrests of the car in front. I will try to get mine working again 1 day.

As sprintagogo said....slider switch just above the 4WD selector with four positons (0,1,2&3). Position '0' is normal, unloaded setting for headlights. Moving switch to 1,2 or 3 actuates a motor that lowers the lights relative to the load/front nose raised position.

Plus of course the 2.5TD is much more economical (we pay nearly three dollars per gallon for petrol). I can get 35mpg with easy, steady'ish driving (and thats not even getting into the vegetable oil scenario! ;))

I've never had the pleasure of driving a 4.0L but there's plenty of power and low end torque on the TD.

Is the OP considering buying a European import?

Makes sense to stick with mph for signs. People are used to the numbering, and it doesn't really affect anything else.

On the other hand, I map oil leases, and we get units like "chains", "varas", etc. I don't even know offhand the conversion for miles to feet, or acres to square miles.
