Easy? Probably not. I wish that they would make it so that you could turn it off in a screen option. The more I drive cars with the feature the less I hate it but I would like to see some study done on wear it causes and if it would lead to more maintenance costs over the life of the car.

I just press the button to disable the Start/Stop whenever I start the engine. It has become so natural for me that I don't even think about doing it anymore. I already have to press one button to start it, which I never had to do before my GC, and pressing one more is not going to wear me out. Some people make that sound like such a chore but the button is right next to the gear selector, where I have to reach to take it out of Park anyway.

Lots of plug and play modules out there.

Another option is the AlfaOBD app. There is an option in there for WK2s and WLs that is "Engine Idle Shutdown Feature Enable/Disable". Just bought the app and OBD connector for my Ram 2500 and it is a really powerful tool. Highly recommend it for any FCA/Stellantis products if you plan on working on your own Jeep. Lets you program, calibrate, and test lots of different things. You can change tire size, TPMS pressure thresholds, etc.

Android app is $49 and here is the OBD connector:

I understand it's quick to turn the engine stop off. What I don't like is always having to hit the button before stopping or wait for the engine to restart on take off. OK, I'm old school. My " daily driver 9 when the weather is good ) is a 1949 chevy pickup with a 327 & m21 4 spd. No ac, no computer, no auto stop etc.

Manufactures have to do things like this to take advantage of mpg credits and save you some new car cost money. They don't get credit if features like this are not automatically enabled on an ignition cycle. A manual override is permitted. I dunno of an ICE car now days that doesn't implement ESS by default.

But then you are likely a highly skilled driver that appreciates routine things like greasing bearings, changing oil, cleaning up points, adjusting the carb, re-gapping plugs, replacing fan belts, and fuel filters because you can. Most now days wouldn't have a clue how to start, let alone drive one of those, let alone feel safe. But then I don't argue with the younger generation now days. I just yell at them to keep off my lawn. :)

My question is, is there any easy way to permanently disable the auto start/stop feature?
The guy asked, I answered.

I hate this feature so much that I don't want to think about it every time I start the Jeep. Also, I have disposable income.

Once in muscle memory it takes at least a split second. If you start your Jeep 10 times a day, thats a second, in 60 days you waste a minute of time, thats like 6 minutes a year. Over a decade that is an hour of your life you won't get back... but then some's muscles are a bit slower to learn than others.... :) Those of us that are quick learners won't understand, but we should show kindness to the disadvantaged and not trivialize the aids they need to get along with their life.
