I’m considering ordering a custom Gladiator or Wrangler Unlimited from SoFlo Jeeps. They’ll build a brand new Jeep with kevlar coating, a lift with wheels/tires, custom bumpers and hood, custom stitched seats/interior etc, but they come out to around $70k. Anyone ever dealt with them? Just seeing if it’s worth it or are there significant savings to be had ($10-15k+) doing it on my own piece by piece?

No the wj first is just a toy and probably one of the best built you will find, also just 86k miles, I daily drive much more expensive vehicles since that's the insult your are tossing about after your first post platinum f150, and my audi q7 tdi,

You asked for opinions then get pissy when you get one, the soflo jeep is a poser mall crawler, get yourself a rig learn to wrench and build it properly

I have 8 vehicles but have twin 1 year olds so the time is what I’m lacking

I have built and sold 25 cars while raising four kids so I get it, but they love to help. You can save money and just get a well built 4 door jk without the fluff and do everything you want to do. If you want power grab the 392 hemi jk

Honestly I was just looking for opinions on their build quality at SoFlo Jeeps I wasn’t really worried about peoples opinions of how they look. I live on the beach in Florida so it would spend absolutely no time climbing mountains anyway 😂 I don’t know much about wranglers and the cost of these aftermarket pieces, so was trying to get a quick idea of how much money I’d be throwing away. Only Jeep I have is a 21 Grand Cherokee L for the car seats haha

I lived in Florida for the better part of 25 years, grew up on siesta key. Build quality aside 70K for useless crap regardless what you going to do with it. JMHO, find a 4x4 shop with a good reputation follow up with the upholsterer of your choice and save 70K,

My concern for any vehicle that customized is about getting replacement parts in the future. It's kind of like the vehicles that Jonathan Ward builds (ICON4X4). They are really cool, but so many of the parts are designed and made by him, that you would never be able to find a replacement if you can't get him to make you another one. How long will it take them to make you a new hood, fender, bumper and grill if you hit a deer or get in an accident? If you piece meal it yourself, you could always buy those same parts again and do it yourself again. At least with that 20 year old Grand Cherokee you can still go to the local junk yard or auto parts store and find what you need.

By the way, I'm up to about 8 Jeeps/builds in my adult life so far and have 10 kids ages 24 to 6 (Two sets of twins in the mix) Six of them are still at home and that is not counting foster kids. You can have lots of kids and still build Jeeps.

insurance might also be an issue, just on my wj it has a custom rider for all the upgrades. if i were to need to replace the parts with professional installation it would be close to 20K in aftermarket upgrades.

yes I kind of lucked into mine, The previous owner had it built by a shop in LA, but it was set up poorly and he was so disappointed he sold it off. I have spent more money and lots of wrenching time to dial it in, now it's near perfect, pretty sure his wife would ride in it.

Don't do it. Because they manufacture a lot of the parts you buy a protection package that is costly from them. When something breaks good luck getting anything done. I've been calling for 3 weeks trying to get them to tell me where to take my jeep to be checked for front end issues only 3 months old using the protection only to get voicemails and no call backs. Check all platforms for reviews and you will see. If you buy screw the extra package they try to sell you. Now I stuck coming out of pocket for stuff they installed half a$$

jmho, but if you're plans are on cruising the beach, what's with needing a machine that looks like it wanted to be a tank but couldn't pass the physical?
70K for that??? 🤢

Their build quality is TRASH, their Jeeps and Broncos are full of issues. Read their Google reviews.

How did the purchase go? Did you get one? If so, how has customer service and support been post sale? Any issues are parts, warranty’s, etc?
