My TJ 's Date of Mfg is 6/96 and i bought it at 10/96
So there is 96 Wrangler and it is a TJ.
Yes but in the car business those dates fall in the model year of 1997. So it is a 97 TJ Wrangler

And yet in your signiture you list it as a '97. :)

It is in fact a model year 1997. Just like the new 2007 Wranglers are out now, even though they are manufactured in 2006 they are still a 2007 Wrangler. The same was true for the '97 Wrangler, only they started production way early in summer and never produced a YJ in 96.

Jeep stopped making the YJ in 95. Then the TJ came out in 97, thus, no model year 96.
Wrong - loads of TJ's were built in 96 (including mine). But for some silly reason the US car market can't operate a calander and call the model a 97 (even for a rig build as early as March 96).....
So over here where everything is off the build date - my rego, insurance and everything else says 96.....
Semantics really though....

Now back to the Airlift - this concept has been widely used in Australia and has proven fairly popular - BUT the bags are much thinner and weaker than the traditionl airbag and due to the contact with the coil are one to wea and failure.
the concept is great but I'll keep my AiRock thanks ;)

Damn, I guess I really have a '00 Wrangler, and a '98 Trans Am lol
Only if you move to Austraila.;) In the US you still use the manf date.

All of you should be shot! This thread became worthless after the second post!

GSD2 read below this system might be overkill but that is for you to decide. Also do a search in the entire Forum not just the TJ section and you will get a few hits.

AiRock is produced by Off Road Only (ORO). http://www.offroadonly.com/products/suspension/airock/

ytodd and jerryc on this forum are running the kit. I've seen a dozen or so posts on here about AiRock. I can't search for them or I would pick out some for you.

A real good place for information on the kit is ROF http://www.rubiconownersforum.com. There are numerous people over there from people running the kit along with posts over is the kit worth it or not. All the owners of AiRock will say it is, the people who are skeptical are the non owners. Take it for what its worth. If I had the cash laying around I would probably buy it. Its suspossed to really help in off camber situations where you can level out the Jeep to maintain stability. Plus the ability to lower the Jeep for on road driving and raise it for off road situations where you need clearance.

Ahh but in the US you don't use the manufacturer date but instead the munfacturer calls it a Year model which is 2 different things. And if you don't think it matters try calling your 5 year old kid 4 ;)

tomkirkland4, I did answer the question ;)

Sorry I was a little pissed this morning.

It just sucks that someone is trying to get an answer to a question and he has to read through all that to get a few good pieces of info...
