So the front face of my bumper has some stitch welding on it at the seems, and ive seen JB weld used very effectively to fill in the missing spots, and then sanded down to blend before painting. What type/grit sandpaper should i be using for a job like this? Raw steel and JB weld

^ agree.

start with pretty course (even 60) and hit it again with something really fine before paint. JB weld sands down pretty quick, so don't go too crazy. You can file it too, if you get a lump or something big when it dries. Sand way out beyond the patches to either side, and you'll never be able to see it.
