I have search like crazy to try and find the number of manual vs auto transmission in the LJ's. Here is the info i found on production numbers. However, does anyone know how many manuals vs autos we produced?

Production sold for the 04-06 LJ (by years)
2004 - 11,822 Unlimited
2005 - 7,450 Unlimited
2005 - 5,854 Unlimited Rubicon
2006 - 14,624 Unlimited
2006 - 6,742 Unlimited Rubicon

Totals:
33,896 - Unlimited
12,596 - Unlimited Rubicon
46,492 - Total

some interesting notes...
Hold on to those LJ's boys (especially those Rubi LJ's)! they could very well go up in value (maybe even reach collector status)...
To use the CJ-8 as an example (low production years, similar body style etc), today can fetch anywhere between 15k-25k and up (depending on the condition). They are very sought after because of their low volume produced and did not sell very well when new. Now look at this:

CJ-8 produced from 1981-1986 (6 years)
LJ produced from 2004-2006 (3 years)

Rubi LJ is even less being only produced TWO YEARS (05-06)

CJ-8 total production for 6 years is 27,000
33,896 - Unlimited
12,596 - Unlimited Rubicon

Rubi LJ has less then half total production of the CJ-8 while only being offered 1/3 the years

I've never come across production numbers for transmissions or color choices for the LJ. All the people that have tried to contract Chrysler regarding the numbers have been told that they don't keep track of that information. Maybe the LJ will become a collector one day, but barring some medical or financial emergency where I'm not able to sell my kidney I'll never get rid of the thing. I'll continue to beat on and upgrade it then maybe restore it to factory condition in 40 years when everyone else is driving jetson cars :)

Yea, coincided with the release of the movie Sahara in 05, some marketing tie in. Funny, there isnt one in the movie, but lots of older FSJ's and a TJ.

A guy used to maintain the registry here http://www.rubiconsahara.com/ but after I bought #380 and tried to get added to the list I never heard back.

Funny thing was I would see one every once in a while before i owned one, now I've seen quite a few here in the Atlanta area. There were at least 3 of us at the Jasper JeepFest in September.

Yes there is one in the movie. The windshield is folded down, the "rhino" bars are removed and the three main characters drive it in the middle of the movie. There is also an MJ, CJ-6 and 8 in the movie besides a few FSJs.

The Tomb Raider Jeep was the first rubicon and a special limited release to 1000 as well. Jeep has openly admitted making well over than amount since there was more demand. It had a special sticker saying xx of 1000 just like the rubi haras did but I wonder what the extras said?

As to the trans #s or even colors #s, jeep admits not having good information on this - which just means they don't want to tell you. Because you know they know how many of what they sold/built.

An as to the collector edition you rubi and rubi hara LJ owner think you have, I would completely agree. If you look at the high dollar scramblers today, what do you see? A completely un-modded beautiful stock jeep. By that logic, keep them stock, drive them seldom and keep them in a garage and 20 years from now, they might actually go up in value. No thanks, I'll beat on mine and buy one of yours later. Haha.

Day, I'll have to go re-watch the film. Saw it was on demand over the holidays and watched it, but admittedly i was distracted by other shiny objects during the flick.

Don't plan to destroy #380 but it gets used as much as I can get it off road. Owned a CJ5 once that was far to nice to wheel offroad. This one will get used and upgraded as needed. I love the rarity of this LJ, but also love its offroad performance.

Agreed. Lifted mine as soon as I had the funds, and she's ready to have her fenders chopped up for mce fenders. Rubi Sahara #479 will live the life of any "normal" Jeep.
The rare part about them is that its unlimited. I bought mine from a dealer and the # plate on the center stack was gone. He had no idea it was a limited package.

Out of the 44,000 made roughly 14,000 were manuals.
