Study history, are you aware of how many people have died while "protected" by a piece of paper? Soldiers in our system are part of the mechanism that enforces the constitution and bill of rights. Soldiers are the ones that died in 1776 to give that very constitution a nation where it is law of the land.
I disagree with the premise of why we are in Iraq (W.M.D. was a lie), but I don't disagree with fighting for freedom and that is what the Iraqi people now are getting. After the first gulf war(which i fought in) we asked the people of Iraq to rise againts saddam, they did, we walked away and hundreds of thousands died. We owe the people of Iraq this. We lost more men in almost any single month in WW1 and 2 than the whole current war. Was it worth it? YES! Is this worth it? YES!
We have things so good we have gotten soft to the harsh reality of what it takes to secure our way of life. Heck people don't even like to admit their hamburger was once alive!
It's not your view of this war that is scary, it is your view of soldiers that scares me.
