I have been using RP in my jeep as far as in my diffs and other componenets. I have been very happy with it. But, as far as my engine oil goes i have always used Valvoline. Now with my engine at 92,000 miles i use the max life. i have been told ny several people to switch to RP instead. they have said it is better on your engine than any other. Im not a pro or have much experince with high milage engines. Anyone have some input???? expertise?

thnaks..

You really dont wanna switch to a synthetic having that many miles. The synthetic will possibly create a leak. Why exactly are you wanting to switch now? As long as you change your oil every 3k with regular oil....you'll be ok.

I agree. I used Royal Purple on my jeep with 55k miles. But at that amount of miles you have it can cause a problem.

I see you live in Ohio, it gets coldish there sometimes. WHile synthetic is lighter it will help coat better but will also find more spots to leak from when the block is cold and not expanded. Synthetic is thinner and has smaller particles, they can find their way through leaky or old gaskets easier.

Stay with regular oil.

i was just inquiring on what i have heard before....no real reason. but thanks for the input. does this rule of thumb state the same for diffs, t-case, and tranny?

Tis not rule, tis logical analysis. Use whatever is already inside your vehicle. I prefer synthetic cause i assume it keeps seals fresh, easier to move/pump, and i'm a tool that has always believed that more $ = better.

i have always used royal purple in my vehicles. i gotmy jeep with 72000 on it and i changed the oil to royal purple. i then got a small leak but used some stop leak oil stuff and changed oil again later w/ royal purple and now no more leaks.
