I've heard that driving without a sway bar is pretty sketchy. Is this true? The reason is that I had to replace my sway bar bushings, and endlink bushings. When I was trying to remove the nuts that hold the end links onto the sway bar they snapped off. I've tried to drive the end links out of the sway bar with a punch but they just wont come out. So just incase I get called back to work next week, I want to know if it's ok to drive without a swaybar and steering stabilizer.

I lost my disco pins and had to drive 40 miles on a windy desert highway with semi trucks flying past me. Felt like I was going to have to change my shorts after that.

If its the front, don't even attempt it unless its an emergency. The sway bar is all that suppresses body roll on your jeep.

so driving with out the rear sway bar won't mess with drivabilility too bad

You can drive it, but you need to realize that you are going to be have a lot more body roll that you normally have. This means that you'll get pushed around more by semi trucks passing and you'll have to slow down a lot more in corners. I'd hit the junkyard and see if there is one there. Steering stabilizer is not needed.

Don't bother taking it out to try and get more flex. It doesn't work that way.

I would not try it. The jeep get very tippsy. I have damaged the stabilizer links while driving and found it to be unstable while turning

I got the sway bar in the rear its just not mounted to the body. I need to get the bolts to remount it. I bought the zj with it off.

I'm rebuilding my jks discos and removed my entire sway bar. Been like that for a while.
Just realize you dont have a front sway bar and drive accordingly.
And OP you are not lifted, it wont be as noticeable as a lifted zj.

The short answer is, yes, you can drive with your swaybar off. The longer answer is, no, you won't be safe driving that way. Your vehicle's center of gravity is higher than the halfway point up it, so it wants to roll very badly, and without the anti-sway bars doing their thing to prevent roll, you're playing with fire whenever you drive at any speed with the sway bars defeated. In a pinch, you can do it if you drive very white-knuckle carefully. I would suggest finding a new bushing and mount ASAP and getting that on there because you're not gonna have a good time driving with no anti-sways.

just saying i have done it on a long armed grand for quite a while just because i need to finish up my end links. and i drive it day in and day out with out problems.ya it gets a good amount of body roll but its still driveable. and i have no sway bar front or rear for the time being
With the rear swaybar, you hardly notice any difference if it's disconnected and the front is not. Front discoed, you certainly notice a difference no matter if you're stock height or 5" lift.
Disconnected front swaybar on the road is a bit sctechy, and you notice it's missing almost anywhere you drive. Is it drivable? Yes. Is it safe? To some extent - just try avoiding quick manouvers. Would I keep the front disconnected for extended periods unless I had to? No. The longest I've driven my ZJ with the front disconnected was for around two weeks due to some work in the front I didn't have time to do. I drove my XJ I think almost through the whole winter (~5 months) with the front & rear disconnected, but they are a bit different story with the rear leafs. Then again, I also rolled my XJ with the front connected, so it really won't stop you from flipping the Jeep
