I had a windshield replacement done today and on the slip the dude wrote "very rusty pinch weld!" what is a pinch weld?! thanks for your help.

Pinchweld:
The one-inch ledge surrounding the opening of the vehicle that supports the windshield. On that pinchweld the urethane adhesive attaches to the glass.

a pinch weld can be found all over any vehicle and doesn't necessarily have to be around the windshield....just a method of joining two pieces of metal, an efficient way for a factory to manufacture cars...i'd assume they just butt two pieces of metal together, back to back and essentially melt them together......if i'm wrong please correct me
