I just finished swapping the Tie rod ends and see the moog parts have some greas3 where the fitting goes. Do these come pre greased or do I have to throw some in there? I dont want to over grease them and rip the seal if that is even possible. Going to install everything and check back for an answer. Thanks!

i didn't add any to mine when i first put them on, but one of them started creaking soon after installation--some grease and it went away no problem. i'd say add a few pumps in.

Would you happen to have the MOOG part numbers available for the TRE?

Parts are usually "shelf-greased" so they won't freeze up in storage, but I wouldn't consider it a useful service lube. And, it's cheap grease.

Once I've got the parts in and the boots on, I'll be under there with a grease gun (loaded with red moly chassis grease) in one hand and a clean(ish) rag in the other - gently pump in grease through the zerk until the grease coming out from under/around the boot goes from amber to red.

Just don't get stupid with pumping - you don't want to blow out the boot!

Thanks! I did about 5 pumps which looked like more than enough when I pumped some on a napkin.

Yeah! Those were the numbers I got. RockAuto had them the cheapest from everyone and I even used a 5% off coupon. $99.33 shipped.

If worn tires due too poor toe in alignment are still used after new TRE, would I still experience the 50-60mph very slight shake, or should it cure it regardless after an alignment with the worn tires?

I read a lot of posts where people were saying to bang the tie rod end on the pitman arm off but I wasnt comfortable being the steering gear might get damaged, I used a tie rod end puller. I centered it where I was able to use about 3 feet of extensions with a ratchet from the top and it worked like a charm.

Mine needed to be greased. Just enough to puff the boot out a little.
