So ive been searching for front and rear diff covers for my WJ, and im kinda lost when it came to it.

Can anyone help out with maybe a link or pics of diff covers on their wj?

D30/D44a

Will be buying the truss kit next month or so too and have it welded on and hopefully new wheels, as since ive gotten married my family has grown fairly large and recently found out they have their own PLANE! i wanna fly it now lol

I believe there is only one. It's beefy but (IMPO) kinda ugly and you can't run a rear sway bar with out modding it

Blue torch Fab. makes one.

That SOLID front diff cover is a good deal! I have been eyeballing front diff covers because I landed my front diff on a rock last time I wheeled. The cover wasn't damaged, but the RTV silicone seal was and now it has a slow leak. I would like to do diff cover on my and a lubelocker so that if the cover shifts 1/16" due to a rock hit it won't start leaking.

i have been too, i just taped my front diff when wheeling last weekend so i might get it over the holidays on "my what to get list me for the jeep list".

maybe the seal was a thin bead, the bolts should of held it in stronger.
if you have any RTV around try applying some were the leak is and see if ti helps

Oh I globbed it on there good. I maybe didn't tighten the bolts down enough - I think I used 15 ft-lbs from a general guide to torque specs based on bolt size. It's a real slow leak. I had to add 5 oz of gear oil and I last went wheeling 2 months ago.

It's funny you mention the "what to get me for the jeep list" because my gf wants to buy me something Jeep-related for Xmas but had no idea what...saw me looking at that diff cover and said "looks like a good Christmas present." I'll see what happens on that front. Also, in my experience RTV only sticks to clean surfaces...oily ones..not so much.

lol my list never gets smaller i always find something and after wheeling in a stock jeep it doubled.

the spark plugs get 20 ft. lbs so i would imagine the diffs would get a bit more torque but once the RTV breaks need to re do it.
i dont know how cold it gets by you in WA but you might want to just try to save as much oil and reseal it since when it colder it will leak more and getting on a cold floor is not that fun to add oil.

I do have a garage and a space heater, so even doing the job in the dead of winter won't be too bad. It usually doesn't get too cold, but they are predicting a very cold, harsh winter this year due to La Nina. I once had to repair a shift linkage on a Audi that broke when we had 14" of snow, it was 8Âş outside and 20mph winds. It was indoor, but even with two space heaters going we couldn't even melt the snow off the car. THAT sucked :p

Thanks so far on the inputs,

it really got me thinking about diff covers the other day when i noticed some light scratches on the cover after this weekend of wheeling and takin pics ha.

But all is well and i didnt mess anything up, just got me concerned with all the dry weather we've had so things arent so giving when you come across them.

i have a Solid on teh front as D30 as well. Really made well. I smackjed it really hard a couple of weeks ago and now I have to figure out how to get the bottom bolt out (crushed it pretty good) and I think it broke the seal, I have a very small drip too.

Find the right size 12-pt socket and hammer it over the distorted bolt head. I think getting a Lubelocker is in order. Because it is a rubber seal, not a silicone gasket, they hold their seal even if the cover shifts which is something RTV cannot do. At least, that's the theory.

So does btf also make a d30 cover?
