yes, they will fit. these are CJ doors on my 93 YJ.

the only isue you might have is if the CJ doors have the twist style handle, those require a different striker to be put on the jeep tub.

nice, u think they would work with a yj hard top too? the reason is i have a guy selling yj doors for 500 and a cj guy selling his for 100. i could prolly get the strikers pretty easy from a yard.

what year cj doors are u running? did you have to change the stricker? because im hearing from some people who did nothing but put the doors right on.

the doors I have on mine are 85 or 86.
as long as the have the paddle style handle, like in my picture in my post above, they will work with the YJ striker.
the only thing I had to do was adjust the hinges on one door to get it to line up correctly.

I don't remember wen the handles changed, but the earlyer CJ's had a twist handle, like this one, that will require a striker change,

and, yes, they will work with a YJ top. as already mentioned, the only difference between the CJ and YJ hard tops is how the rear glass closes with the tailgate. with the CJ tops, you had to open the glass first, then the tailgate. with the YJ tops, the tailgate has to be opened first.

no need to drill holes. just loosten the bolts, align the door, tighten the bolts.
there is quite a bit of adjustability in just the door hinges. however, on the off chance that there isn't enough, you can also loosten the body side of the hinge, and adjust it as well.

I want to say the door latch changeover was in 1983. I think the 1981 had the older style striker and handle. And to be honest I dont know if they even made a CJ in 1982 I've actually never heard of anyone owning one...kinda strange.

How can I make CJ doors fit on my 93 wrangler?

Specifically for cmsurfer....your situation sounds a lot like mine. I just bought a 93 wrangler off of craigslist, and the full doors that came with it are CJ doors (I believe the hard top is also from the CJ model). Unfortunately, the doors don't have any handles, so now I'm trying to find a way to make this work. Right now the doors just have holes where the handles are supposed to be....no mechanism on either side. Do you know what I need to make this work? Every place I've gone so far has told me they couldn't help, including a jeep junk yard. I'm pretty unfamiliar with jeep parts, so if you could send a link to a picture, that would be awesome!

Thanks!

heres my question, i got a 95 YJ softop, and the windows are hell. are there any doors that dont have "zipper" windows and rather one u roll down. that will fit on my Jeep?

@Birdie17: do you have the internal door linkages? If you do, you may just need the exterior paddles and interior handles. Go to 4WD.com, look up CJ-7 Parts-->Doors.

@Nick Knipp: Do you have halfsteel doors? If so, and you want to keep them, then you only have sliding uppers as an option.
Otherwise, you can get full steel doors with the windows that crank up and down; however, your stock softtop probably has the "squared off" door spaces while the full doors are rounded off. You would have to acquire an aftermarket softtop then.

i have no idea how doors are cagetorized. its got metals in it i know. and a lame zipper window that flaps al over the plaec when its zipped down. Im looking for old fashioned 'crank up/down' windows so i wont be annoyed. i think if u look at my pictures u can get a good idea.

You've got the factory steel half doors with soft uppers. You'll have to get factory steel full doors with the crank windows so as not to annoy your crankiness. :p This also means that you will need another top.
You can find them on eBay and Craigslist from $250-750 or even more. Check for rust under the hinges, windows roll up and down, handles and latches open & close properly. I've got my eyes on a better pair of doors that are currently on mine and I think the guy has a pair of black (maybe dark blue). PM me if you're interested and I'll send you the link if I can find it.

i gotta change the top? but i like the softtop =(
i can drive it w/o doors and top off on sundays =)
