I need your jeep expertise please, I am new to jeeps. I am considering buying a 1998 sport wrangler from someone. The jeep has an AEM brute force intake system and headers? Do any of you know what each of these items do and whether or not it a good thing to have on the jeep... Thank you for your help in this, I am trying to decide whether or not to buy this wrangler and i need theses questions answered... thank you

Not enough to be noticed or worthwhile. The AEM is not a buying factor, it is just a intake system... how is the Jeep itself?

They basically will give you a slight increase in performance. I would say that the intake would give you about a 5 hp gain and a nice sound :p and the headers are good for about 7-10 hp. Shouldn't hurt anything to have them on there. However, the only risk is if you go in water that would be near the air filter which could equate to hydrolock.

The jeep itself appears to be in pretty good shape. No major rust that i can see and drives smoothly. The exhaust is louder than a normal wrangler, which i assume is do to the intake upgrade? maybe? do you know?

The velcro that is on the jeep itself that attaches the soft top is peeling off and would have to be replaced or reglued to the frame, and the left turn signal works occassionally.

Other than a few cosmetic issues it seems to be in good shape
