This thread will detail the "revival" of my 1993 YJ I call "Betty White" (4cyl, 5spd, 93,500 miles). Shes old, dirty, and rusty....BUT with a whole lot of time & effort and a whole bunch of new parts, she should be looking good and solid once again. I have brought various Jeeps back to life over the years but for whatever reason I had never documented them with too many pictures. For this rebuild, I plan to take tons of pics and have some good before and after shots.
This build will not be anything too wild or radical as some of the builds on JF are, but it will be done with quality parts with the end goal of becoming a nice weekend warrior and trail Jeep. I have collected and stockpiled a lot of parts over this past winter with the goal of getting this Jeep driving by the end of the Summer (it hasn't run since last August when I bought it, parked it, and began taking it apart in my free time). It won't be the fastest build because of time/$$ restraints, but it will be fun none the less!
Current parts in the garage being/waiting to be installed (Stage 1):
2.5in OME Leaf Springs (36R's on all 4 corners)
BDS Shocks & Steering Stabilizer
M.O.R.E 5/8 Greasable Boomerangs, Daystar Greasable Main Eye Bushings
Axle Bump Stops
1in Prothane BL
1in Brown Dog MML (as well as Brown Dog engine brackets and cradle)
Warn Gas Tank Skid
Kilby Front and Rear Bumpers
MCE Flatty Fenders
Superwinch EPi9.0s
Hella 500FF's (The $10 Wal-Mart deal!!)
Chassis Saver for frame/undercoating
Monstaliner for tub
245/75R16 MT/R's on Moabs
Stage 2 parts/projects:
33'' Tires
8.8 and re-gear to 4.88's
Lockers
Roll Cage
Here is what she looked like the day I bought her home:
