Hahahaha. 44/9" is something I'm always thinking about.
Hahahaha. 44/9" is something I'm always thinking about.Sack up and build a 44. Then wish you built a 60. Wanna buy a built 44?![]()
I don't want to know lol. But it's not as bad as I thought. My buddy had a flat skid in his TJ, which is basically just a big piece of plate and it weighs 60 pounds. I can't imagine mine being much more if not any more than that. I'm ditching the wet carpet so it will off set it lol. Plus, as long as I keep the heavy weight low, it doesn't bother me as bad...alexrule123 said:Looks good but my god how much does that thing weight!?
Yeah, I don't trust those for hard wheeling. I'm going to run bolts through the sides of the frame too. Instead of counter sunk bolts, I think I'll get some of the bolt protectors from ballistic fab.Timo_90xj said:At least all that weight is belowe your COG point, so it'll help keep the rubber side down
Looks good, but I'd worry a little about the mounting bolts below the frame.. I'd use countersunk bolts like I mentioned, I'm pretty damn sure you'll rip those off at some point.
Thanks! And I will soon! Bring your XJ to Crozet!Looks awesome and very well done! Now get to scraping it over all them big *** rocks you cruise over and let us know how great it is!! Lol...my cross member is starting to look like your factory one, and I don't do near the amount of hardcore rocks you do!!
Thanks man! Acutally, I've never had an issue with those. I figured I would, but they haven't stopped me yet!Looks good!..now start skinning those rocker support legs so you can slide over the rocks even better and not get hung up on 'em
Yup, this is one of the single best upgrades for the TC linkage. I've never really understood what's the point behind that multiple- joint thingy that is under there.. It should either be cable actuated, or a single rod like yours is now. The heims allow for enough articulation between engine-tranny-tc-package and unibody on the bumps to not cause any problems. I friend of mine had constant problems with his XJ popping out of 4lo, replaced with two heim joints and all- thread and as far as I know not once has it popped out of 4lo after that! :thumbsup:Built a blingin' transfercase linkage out of 7/16" heims and some threaded stock. Had to flip the lever on the xfer case, cut it in half and put a 45 degree angle on it, and then welded it back together. Shifts a hell of a lot better and actually feels like it "clicks" into 4 hi and 4 low. Doesn't feel mushy anymore...
