my parents for the 18th birthday offered to buy me a 2012 rubicon or 5,000 and work in to my yj. i am not a big fan of the new rubicon with plasticfenders but alittle info might help out and whats some good things i should get for my rig it could use some toys for it. i have lights lift and my wich pick out.

5 grand would do ALOT for a YJ.

New Jeep would last for a long time. But probably not get modded for a while.

Depends how much you like your YJ. If I had your option with my TJ, I would take the 5 grand.

If your YJ is kinda a crapper with cancer and it chokes when running id take the new wheels .

and who says he can't keep his current jeep? A YJ and a new Rubicon? The only thing better would be a TJ and a new Rubicon. Or he could sell the YJ and put it towards mods on the new one. :dunno:

that's tough man, i would take the 5k, because i'm going to be doing a hardcore build in the next couple years anyway. but if my jeep was already pretty stock like yours, i would take the new one.

Ask your parents if they could give you the $5000 for parts and put the remaining $30,000 and put it into some kind of investment for you.....ah I'm sure if they're willing to buy you a brand new vehicle you're probably already set there anyway.
