You guys keep bragging about topless. Well..... I have you all beat. This is as open air as it gets.
Notice the terrible shackle angle on the front. These are the Rough Country 2 1/2 springs that were on the roller when I bought it. The front shackles need to be slightly forward of vertical for best ride and articulation. The rears are the opposite, they need to be rearward of vertical. The rear springs were arched so bad that the were forward so far that they were making contact with the frame. They had tension resting on the frame. I had a hard time even getting the bolts out. I do not know how the guy I bought it from even got them in. Sure, it does not have a tub and bumpers etc. on it but I put a LOT of weight on the rear and was fully convinced that they would never be right. I bought OME springs and they sit correctly.
The RC springs were brand new. I called RC, they told me to go pound salt. I was not the guy that purchased them new.
This is a really nice roller. It has had some frame repairs but they are well done. It was blasted and epoxy primed and painted. A bunch of this Jeep was commercially blasted by the PO. It has all stainless lines, steering parts, brake parts, etc. A lot of other new parts included. I almost felt guilty for what I paid for it.
One of these days I will get back to this build. The pile of new and nice parts keeps growing in the meantime.
