Motor is in. Tried to get the AX15 in place (formerly had the BA-10) but found out I need a transmission mounting plate between the transmission and belly plate, apparently they are made out of some type of unobtianium...any ideas?

Oh that. I wish I still had two of them, but I don't. I think I threw away my original one years ago. Last time I bought one I went to a dealership and they sold it for $75 or something. All I needed was the rubber exhaust mount bushing, but I had the same problem you did and couldn't ever find one by itself.

This is off my '93 and AX-15. It's just a bent metal bracket with 6 holes in it. In your shoes I'd just make one. (It's pictured upside down, trans side on the floor.)

If you still have that out could you make a couple of measurements for me? All I think I really need is the distance from the rear bolt holes for the transmission and the holes for the mount itself, and the amount of drop from one surface to the other. other than that I would just have to center the mount.

Note there is a slight angle, the two flat surfaces are not parallel. I doubt is matters much. The 5.25" measurement is between hole centers. The stock appears to be 1/4"with an extra 1/8 or so thickness added to the trans face (top of the 1" arrow).

Thanks so much! That will help a bunch. I was looking on Ebay and the TJ bracket is similar and can be had for a little over 40, a bit of cutting and welding and I'll be fixed up.

Chassis and axles are painted and the whole thing is sitting back on its wheels.

Might have been overkill but the body is back on the frame, and nobody blew their back out.

I drove my YJ! As some you may remember, I took it out of service Dec 27 to replace the clutch and fix whatever else I found on the way in. After a second visit by my club buddies on this past Tues to help with the heavy lifting of the trans and t-case, it was 90% together. It's not ready for prime time driving, but I did add the rear drive shaft so I could take a ride in the neighborhood. All seems fine so far!

It's hard top and hard doors off day! No doors or roof for until Nov! I do use a bikini for the NM summer sun. Back on the road after the big clutch project, now naked too, let the summer dirt games begin!!
I’m jealous. I just heard we can expect 12”+ of snow here in the next couple days. Tops and doors will be staying on.
