We finished everything up last night. Bled the brakes, got the wheels on and took off the front fender flares. To my surprise, none of the fender flare bolts broke. I didn't break a single bolt on the entire jeep. Everything came off with ease. I have never seen that before, especially on a 33 year old XJ!

That is cool.
I replaced those speed nut things with big washers and nuts.
And of course anti-seized the hell out of them.
LOL.

I need to do that too. Tube is just so expensive right now. Especially since i want .25 wall so its indestructible. I was quoted like $475 for the tube. Not going to spend that much.

This is only .120 wall but it was free. Cut off another XJ that was completely rusted out. I parted it out and one of things I gained was the tube to add to my sliders. Didn’t even have to bend anything. They fit on perfectly.

I dented my .120 wall in a few places so i decided that i need at least 3/16" if not quarter wall.

So this happened last night.
Know how I always tell you guys that I really don't drive much and the '00 is the only vehicle I own?
I would have to check my files to be sure but thinking I have had my '00 for about 10 1/2 years now.
And bought her with 147K and change.
LOL.

so right in the 3000/3200 a year range.
I can see that if you live in a town.
If I want my mail its 30 miles a real town is 140 round trip.

So How do you do oil changes? Just twice a year? and pay no attention to Mileage?

I do all my maintenance by time and not mileage.
Oil every April and October.
Anti-freeze every April in an even year.
Same with tranny and transfer case fluid.
Every April I suck out the brake and power steering fluid.
Diffs get sucked out every 5 years on the 0 or the 5 in April too.

Ripped this thing down last night. Found something cool. It has a factory XJ front HP44. Imported from Venezuela. I thought they were a myth. Apparently not. And this one is rust free.

I'll throw it in here even though it's not anything really cool. Did a 3 inch lift and 31s. Bought the jeep about 5 years ago and was intending to do it soon after. Life kicked me in my *** some, but finally got around to it. Pic looks more nose down then it looks in real life. Though there is some rake. If the leafs don't settle ill throw a spacer in to level it out. IRO steering box brace and sye. Rough country 3 inch lift with full leafs and lower control arms and adjustable track bar. . Only thing left to do is the alignment. Got it pretty close by eyeball but the alignment machine at work took a **** and guys coming out to fix it monday. Amazing how high it feels while still bieng so short compared to other vehicles.

Parked it next to the new build to compare. Same wheelbase. Same size tires. Same drivetrains. But still very different.

How do you like the coil over conversion on the YJ? Is there a build thread on it?

Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk
I haven’t driven it yet so time will tell. It’s a pain to fit coils on a narrow axle in a YJ. I raised and narrowed the front frame by a few inches, and it’s still tight. Also ended up replacing the back few feet of frame as well. Its running XJ leafs run backwards in the back. It’s about to get stripped back down so everything can be finish welded and painted. Then it will go back together and I’ll figure out how it drives. It does have an AW4 though so that will take some figuring out to get it wired correctly.

Helped a friend land the links for his leaf spring delete. I regeared these axles and did hydro assist in the past, but now he is ready to ditch the leaf springs. Going triangulated 4 link and king coilovers.

And for anyone wondering, this is how many wires tie into the AW4. I stripped out the Mj harness so I can tie it all into the YJ harness and get the AW4 working like a factory install. Fortunately some of this will be deleted as it gets tied into the factory YJ harness. But here’s a photo of it all laid out and labeled.
