I wouldn't expect to find them new. I'd just go to the JY with a pair of heavy wire cutters and a pair of channel locks. Clip, bend, slide 'em out. You might be able to just bend the gutter back and pluck them right out. But you will have to do one or the other for sure. The trick will be getting them on your rig without causing the damage.
I figured, but i thought maybe a place like teamcherokee would have NOS ones. Ive done them once before, but they weren't on secure as they could be, just like you guys are saying. I ripped the one off on a small tree branch that got wedged in between the gutter and the trim piece.

How is that plastic dip stuff? If all goes according to plan my Jeep will get its paint issues addressed in the spring. Was thinking of using that crap on the rockers, doors below the molding, and maybe the wheels just for winter protection. Then peel it off in the spring.
I really like mine. It goes on easy and takes much less prep than paint. If your rockers are already rusting, they won't stop them from doing so. My rockers are getting worse every day and you can clearly see that through the plastidip. The doors and fenders though came out pretty good and anyone that doesn't know any better would think it was paint. I did it because I wasn't sure if I would like the look. As t turns out, I do and will eventually peal the dip off and paint it.

Here is a slightly closer look.

And as I said before, I recommend doing one panel at a time due to the fact that you want to pull tape while it's wet.

I sprayed in 2 heavy coats to get this finish. It may look bumpy when it goes on but it smooths out as it dry's. The stuff is pretty idiot proof. And if you screw it up you just wait till it dry's, peel it off, and do it over.

So my XJ has IIRC Skyjacker 2" greaseable lift shackles on it, if I want to go back closer to a stock height is there any problem with drilling new holes at the stock length?

Assuming there's no clearance issues with the leaf spring eye that could only serve to reduce stress on the shackle and the spring. Should be good.

Probably will do the same in SMiss, it's just damned humid out, I think winter is about done for us.

I wish it was done here. Every year in Texas we don't have a little ice storm in January we get a ***** of one in late February or March. One of those things where you wake up to 60* and then leave work and find out it's gone to 18* while you were inside.

We didn't get one in January.

Bright side my jeep is working and happy, I hate ice in the Ranger and the focus is so light it's downright terrifying.

69° and sunny as of right now. I have woke up plenty to the high temperature and have it bottom out like that with no jacket. Miserable for sure.

For now it's 73, sunny and generally one of those days that makes me hate being a desk jockey.

On topic for the thread: Drove the jeep today. I went from four components speakers to one woofer somehow. Time to go through wiring, something must be loose from when I re-installed the amps after replacing the carpet. Lucky I've got my headphones till then.

Thank you for the info. If I do get my paint issues addressed in the spring I think I will utilize that for some added winter protection. Like the idiot proof part. Me and rattle spray cans do not get along. To say my rattle can skills suck would be putting it midly. Do not really care how it looks, again just winter protection, but it looks nice on your Jeep. That and Fluid Film I use my Jeep will last forever. LOL.

Anyone have a link to these clips hes talking about. One of the many things i need to do to it, just need to find the clips first :brickwall:

Are these what you guys are looking for? I found them a long time ago and emailed the link to myself wondering what they were. Could somebody please post a picture of these drip rail covers. I am really curious.

Are these it? See the first picture. Do they cover the rain gutter on the Jeep? Line drawn on second picture.

Those exactly the clips I need.

Here is a video all about drip rails

Thanks Shooptube. Awesome. Love the video link. Ya know the picture is worth a thousand word thing. Glad I could help on the clips. Like I said saw them and did not have a clue. Just emailed the link to myself thinking they might come in handy someday. Now I just have to figure out if I want them. Thinking you actually wheel your Jeep, as opposed to me (remember old, days over, still gotta own a Jeep though) just a DD, and like the guy said in the video catch them once on something and they are toast.
