I guess it depends on which part of 'out of the country' you were in .Dial Up mostly
Pretty sure I have a pic of it, but I'm not sure how much its changed.I don't post pics of it, and I didn't post at all for the last year because I was out of the country
Looking forward to seeing yours done. And I think you can be excused considering.S8NNG8 said:Pretty sure I have a pic of it, but I'm not sure how much its changed. This 2-tone frenzy is getting me anxious to get mine done. But in all of my rearranging I've misplaced the roll of vinyl I bought.
Guy I know finally got a house with a garage. He does outstanding body work, I'm thinking about getting a quote for a whole new paint job. Maybe a non-stock color.Cage583 said:I've been talking about getting mine painted professionally but don't know what I want or anybody I trust in the area.
Don't be that guy.bluejunior said:I know a good paint guy. The expense has held me off though. Plus sometimes I think I'm going to have it painted like the explorers in the first jurassic park and I should just keep it patched and not rusting til then.
I gotta say I think I love my excuse. Anybody need a smile for today?Looking forward to seeing yours done. And I think you can be excused considering.
Agreed, that guy is already here somewhere.Don't be that guy.
Well I hope he's at least in a YJ and not an XJ.S8NNG8 said:Agreed, that guy is already here somewhere.
Ok, now you got me wondering. Was it a YJ? It was just in the last couple months he showed it off cuz he'd just gotten it done. Don't matter really, I think it would look corny to replicate any TV inspired design like that. Just saying I wouldn't do it, but if anybody else decides to do it and I see it someday I'll compliment it depending on how well it was done. A Trooper I've seen around my town tried to do it (obviously rattle can) and it certainly deserved no compliments.Well I hope he's at least in a YJ and not an XJ.
The movie had Explorers and YJs. If you're gonna recreate a specific car from a movie, you should start with the right car.S8NNG8 said:Ok, now you got me wondering. Was it a YJ? The one I saw here was an XJ, I remember now. Cuz I recall it not being right in the same sense you stated. The movie had Explorers and YJs. If you're gonna recreate a specific car from a movie, you should start with the right car.
I got a set of oem drip rail covers from the junkyard today. Only problem is that I can't get them to stay on my jeep.
I to am curious?

I'm assuming the "gutters" on each side of the roof. There is a black piece covering them, which he is referring to. Never heard of them being called that.
Did I miss the answer to this? Can somebody post a picture? They are the covers that go over the "gutters". They're just a pain to get back on.
Here Shoop. There are clips in the drip rail that the edges of the cover slide into. Line them up with the notched areas along the cover. Put the covers up there with the outside facing the sky(bends at the ends facing down). They'll roll on in a 1/4 circle by going along with the butt of your hand thumping the cover into the clips. As you know I replaced mine. They vibrate when I slam my drivers door. You've gotta make sure they are completely untweaked when you put them on or the bends will pull them loose.
Anyone have a link to these clips hes talking about. One of the many things i need to do to it, just need to find the clips first :brickwall:S8NNG8 said:Here Shoop. I wouldn't expect to find them new. I'd just go to the JY with a pair of heavy wire cutters and a pair of channel locks. Clip, bend, slide 'em out. You might be able to just bend the gutter back and pluck them right out. But you will have to do one or the other for sure. The trick will be getting them on your rig without causing the damage.Anyone have a link to these clips hes talking about.
