seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

In the next day or so I'll probably do the 200 mile one way trip for these. 33x12.50 duratracs on some brass knuckle beadlocks. To replace my boggers and biohazard beadlocks.
Same tires I had on my wrangler and now have on my Cherokee. Great tires. No complaints so far!
Clever. What if you ran a cable like the hood release to the cab so you could manually open/close them while driving? Seems like it might be easier and perhaps more effective.
(from a guy who totalled a car due to a stuck throttle) …and safer

I'd NEVER mess with anything on the throttle body.
e.g. Driving at 65mph, twig falls in vent, throttle stays open

You would be better off using a shaker hoodscoop flap vacuum solenoid to actuate it

Take another look, no twigs are getting in the tb. The vents are for engine bay heat, not intake.

Thats a really good idea. This probably would be where I'd relocate the cable for winter.
After reading this I thought of the old manual choke cable.
I'd just like to use the link off the tb for something to have more neat **** to show off when I pop the hood.
Today I'm curious to see how it rides with the weight of that battery on the front suspension. I'm hoping it gets rid of the ds being more bouncy than the ps.
I still gotta get the body strap done. There is just enough play that it could hit the neck on the radiator on a pothole.
i think my fuel pump is giving me warning signs! Stalled out 4 times in 4.5 miles, and yes i had/have fuel in the tank. It has actually been doing it periodically for the last month. Just today was the worst.
cps?

Meant to ask you, how do you like the under-windshield intake?

Ever thought about finding a little scoop for it to maybe make it breathe a little better on the highway?

I love it, its one of my favorite mods. Because of the ripple effect from the vent and the wiper, it creates a dead spot, so it can breathe quite well.

Nifty. I'll have to keep it in mind. Can't say I wouldn't like having under-hood space for a second battery and a cooler intake location would just be gravy on top.

I'm sure they handle greater than my boggers on the road.

Plus you get the added benefit that you're less likely to suck water into the motor when fording through water.

TRUE. Though it does preclude ever going to a snorkel if one is crossing water often.

I have to say that's what thing I never got about the 4.0L. Who looked at the jeep and said: "Hey this is a 4x4 people will mud and do crossings in, let's make the alternator the lowest accessory on the block. Right in the middle of the wet and the crap."

Dunno? It hasn't quit all the way, has started back up every time so instead of going on a wild goose chase, I'll prob wait till it kills over and I can't get it to start back up. Which will prob be soon, cause it seems like it is getting more frequent. But it only did it once this morning in the way to work.

I've been pricing out fuel pumps and so far rock auto has the best deal online, followed by napa locally, for a Bosch anyway.

Edit: I'll look into the fuel filter and fuel system cleaners also, hope this will be an easy and cheap fix.
Drove it to Stennis Space Center to watch RS-25 space engine test fire, will post pics later.
So I'm removing a hitch from a Chevy 3500 dually... Can you see the problem? Lol

Flowmaster is welded back on. Stronger then before.
How's the gas mileage with the tire up there? I had a 31 on my roof for about 6 hours and couldn't do it anymore. Gas mileage dropped and the noise was awful.
Could the transfer case going out cause my transmission to stop pulling all together?
