It only works with the newer intake I take it? My pump is also starting to go, could be a worthwhile swap, and there's a few more WJs around the yard here.JeepComanche89 said:

In other words thats not gonna happen tomorrow. Currently the truck is sitting in the garage without a belt. May just leave it like that till I can get someone to look at it tomorrow night. Side note, I really need to learn how to plan things out better.
I'll buy it from you for 101 hahachriskeenan said:Bought it a snorkel, 100$ from a local club member, is not name brand or anything but it feels solid and looks good.
I believe its a direct bolt to the newer HO intakes. Or closer to bolt on i guess. Im still confused as to what is involved to do the swap. I still have not found a clear answer. Some people say its the same pump footprint as the HO's, but you need to rig up a set of lines as far as I know. And also people have been describing a constant whine, which can possibly be solved by a in line cooler. It only works with the newer intake I take it? My OEM pump , with 199K on it , has an almost constant whine .And also people have been describing a constant whine, which can possibly be solved by a in line cooler.
By having the HO in my XJ, would I possibly already have the better pump?I believe its a direct bolt to the newer HO intakes. Or closer to bolt on i guess. Mine only whines when turning, but it keeps cutting out on me and it gets annoying.pdcomm said:My OEM pump , with 199K on it , has an almost constant whine .
No dont believe so. Apparently the theory is that the WJ is a heavier vehicle, and has a more powerful pump with the same foot print as a HO XJ.S8NNG8 said:By having the HO in my XJ, would I possibly already have the better pump?
If this describes your rig, then your rig is the one to check for that answer. I had an '87, but it was a 2.5.Does anyone know if a 87 would be wired fir an e fan if it did not come with one factory?
Im aware lol. I just didnt know if it was a common thing that they all were or none were wired or something. I took a quick look and didnt see anything, but couldn't remember if it was hidden behind the header panel or something. Something tells me it was but i could just be fantasizing lolS8NNG8 said:If this describes your rig, then your rig is the one to check for that answer. I had an '87, but it was a 2.5.
You know I had some mystery noises and after I replaced my alternator they went away! Ironically I also had a knocking kinda sound when I let the clutch out that I couldn't pin point, a piece of exhaust fell off and now no more knocking.JeepComanche89 said:So got a couple things out of a 97+ XJ today. A guy i knew had it and it was going to scrap so he let me snag a few things before hand. I got a dome light with map lights, some nice sunvisors, a brand new donut, and a electric fan. Might grab the wheels too.
And i finally found the mysterious noise. Its the altenator lol. Big relief
Haha nice. Yeah i had no idea what it was. And the noise i heard with the belt off (someone pointed out) was probably just because the engine was hot and the rad and everything was expanding. And i started it ice cold without a belt and no noise this time . So the alts good for now. When it blows up i might buy a mean green, this is the second napa thats went on me.rebelbowtie said:You know I had some mystery noises and after I replaced my alternator they went away! Jeep magic
They are a wedge base. Don't recall the size. I ordered all mine through superbrightleds.com. They have a bulb finder, which was accurate. The switches and stuff in the 97+ dash take a twist lock, which I had to find myself. I went by the dimension specs they listed on their site.JeepComanche89 said:Ok so Im gonna finnaly do the leds in the interior. Need to go find some courtesy light sockets somewhere in my "junkyard" or if I dont have any I might go cut some out of that other XJ I got parts off of today. So I guess I need to find some sockets before I order the leds. And I forget what kind you need for the cluster so I will order them all tomorrow I suppose.
