get rid of the blocks.
That's what I thought, are leafs usually 150 a piece or am I reading this wrong...
SFR yours looks great... although you might want to double up on that ziptie :D
Haha, thanks. Warn sent me the wrong hook so im waiting for the right one to get here
At 285 a pair forget it. I'm just going replace the stock leafs with either new or used ones. Maybe not the smartest decision, but I'm balling on a budget.
Hey forgive me but I have to ask whats so bad about blocks?
Im neutral and ready to be biased.

x2. I just kind of went along with it. I feel like I would get more flex w/o blocks for some reason though.

For about 65 bucks you can get 3-4 inches of lift. (i spent 20$ on my bastard pack and 30$ on new ubolts plus a few bucks for pb blaster) I ran an xj main leaf and a whole s10 blazer pack underneath it and had 3+ inches lift from it plus a 1.5 inch shackle. It didn't ride that bad and it was really cheap and effective.

Sounds tempting, but I wouldn't know what the hell I was doing, lol

Start the PB soakfest now!!
Not worried about that because a month or two ago I added a spacer lift and when I put the bolts back in I anti-seized them ALL. Then i replaced the shocks, like a month ago, and anti-seized all those too. So it should be pretty easy. :)
Pulled spark plugs and checked gap on them ( I wanted to see if the original owner knew what they were doing) regapped plugs, reinstalled and proceeded to lay down an approximately 100 foot black mark ..Love that tire spin!
Got some new parts

What do I need to do to break them loose?

Get some PB blaster and a breaker bar. That's how I did it. And then I just prayed that the bolts don't break and they didnt.

Then, once you get them off, don't thread lock those bolts, you'll screw yourself when you want to take them off later. If theyre rusty, take a wire brush and clean them. After that, smother them in anti seize. Then put the bolts back in.

Later on, you should be able to get those bolts off relatively easily. I hope this helps you!

The addition of the block is like adding length to a ratchet. If you think of the centering pin as the pivot, an the lever going down to the center of the axle, the longer that lever, the easier to turn what every your trying to twist. That being said, when you step on the gas or the brake, an your axle is further from the leaf centering pin, its going to have an easier time bending the leaf which results in whats called axle wrap.

As if axle wrap was bad enough, since most blocks sit in between ubolts, as your in the mountains flexing, you can run the risk of those blocks popping out. My 88 had to have hose clamps to ensure that wouldn't happen.

All in all, blocks are a cheep way to get lift. An for the short term (an little gain such as less than 1.5 inches), may be ok. But try to put the effort in leafs an shackles first. Then adjust with blocks if needed (in my opinion no more than 1 inch).

This is a pretty good price and they are RE's not RC's. I would buy them but I already spent my Jeep money for now :(
Thank you I was just wondering because I didn't know why they were getting bashed

It's actually a misnomer

What they are is Stabilizers or stabilizer bars, they are actually for anti-sway while turning (to keep the tires under the vehicle)

They stabilize the steering geometry. Here is a good explanation:

Lol I know what they are. Every XJ I've had the swaybars were the first things to go in the trash.
