seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

picture a few posts down.

Nothing yet , I am thinking about taking it wheeling and testing out the km2's or washing it

Sounds like a pretty easy decision to me!
That's exactly what it is, but how can I keepit off of my leafs? They beat the hell out Of eachother. Well the hangar takes most of the beating.
Bend it.

finally got a chance to test out the Rustys 3"lift and im impressed what that lift lets me do. Found some decent trails in VT with rock ledges, off camber areas and rocks. JKS discos are AWESOME.
replaced driver side wheel bearing only to find out that wasn't what the problem was. Still trying to figure it out. Maybe passenger wheel bearing? Constant roaring sound with street tires so IDK.

The leaf spring is inverted. Basically it's so worn out that it has flattened till it started bending the wrong way. Very common. Nothing a good lift won't fix. My add a leaf helped mine but made it stiff. Going to get full packs soon. And the hanger had a metal bracket that wrapped around the rubber that mounted to the frame, I'm guessing it rotted off long ago. And if you hang your lights that low they will be short lived.
Your telling me to buy a new lift? No thanks, can't I get new leads or something.

Do you have an AAL lift? If so just get OEM leafs and put the AAL in the new ones.

A nifty trick when you do that is to throw an extra XJ main with the eyes cut off under the main when you rebuild your pack.
I know the 8.8 is alot of work but for what you can get a 29 spline 8.25 and build it for, it will be stronger and cheaper.
I have a 29spline 8.25, and I was looking for something a bit stronger, rather than spend the money on locking that axle.
I originally planned on a 44 to get away from C-clips, but after talking to some experts about it, I am going to grab an 8.8 from a local already geared.

when the time comes I will ditch the factory LSD and throw a super88 in it as well.., at that point it will be nearly indestructable to me.

New leafs, add a leaf or bastard pack it.
Washed mine then installed some lights on the front bumper. I need to buy a gutter mounted light bar, so I can install my RI duallys.
Anyone ever used these?? Thinking about it for my 91, seems pretty good and a fair price.

I did probably 5 years ago and it was a good setup, back then it only cost $50.
