I fixed my lock mechanism on the front passenger door.
Went to the junk yard because they got a new 97 untouched and spotless white xj pulled the parts I needed I have to go back for the DS, I know I shouldn't and will get flamed for this but I'm going to try and run a t case drop and shims for about a week because I won't be able to do my hack n tap at the same time. Anyone limp around with a t case drop for a little while on 5.5?

Its not to bad, I did it for a few months, I still have the tcase drop blocks somewhere if you want them. Also, see any XJs with skid plates?

I work with a dude that's running a 1" drop on a 4.5 permanently. No issues so far.

I ran a tcase drop and 4* shim with a 6" lift for a little bit until I could afford the sye.
Pulled my headliner out, stripped the fabric and brushed the glue off. Hope to get at least one coat of paint on it tomorrow. Bonus...I've got a pair of Kenwood 6.5" speakers that didn't have a home...turns out they drop in the rear soundbar like they were made for it! This weekend should see the headliner painted and put back in with the Kenwoods in the soundbar, CB mounted between the visors, switch panel mounted in the headliner and driving lights on the bumper. Kinda excited to be getting something done to it.

The head gasket was pretty nasty, but didn't have any cracks. They had a problem getting the new intake to mount to the dowel pins, and accidentally broke the end off of the mounting hole on the intake, I crawled under it myself, and could not find any leaks or holes, but It still make me wonder....and since they broke it they gave it to me for free.

The only issue I have now is that it has a bit of a high idle, and it is consistently getting higher, about 1k Rpms now, but I will keep an eye on it, I hope it's not because of the dowel pin mount being gone. Besides that it runs perfectly at operating temp, and has no problems.
Bring it back to them to make right, their fault their problem.

I will never take it back to them for engine work.

they do great suspension and axle stuff, but I'm not too impressed with their engine skills.

Im going to give it a tune up, and diagnose the high rpm problem this weekend, as well as double check their work.

I doubt the broken tab is any issue, but I will find out.

Will I be opening a can of worms and have it be better to go with the 3 inch kit?

nah, they know their stuff, and breaking the intake was an accident, but I'm just not a fan of their style, or anyone elses for that matter.

I broke the same spot on my last xj didn't have any issues, clean the iac and double check to se if the intake is seated

4* shims and sye. It looks better in the pic than real lift. Still get vibes. Might try 6* Idk.
Josh you should be fine for a while.

All I did today was drove mine. Gonna order steering for it byMonday :)
