Detailed mine and did some touch up painting on the rims. Had to switch out the mudders (not enough tread) to some weak A/Ts last week :( There only temporary until I can find a good deal on some more mudders. I tried wheeling it with the A/T's and it was dissapointing. I NEED MUDDERS! The rims got scratched up from being broken off and remounted so touched that up, and detailed it from where it had gotten dirty wheeling.

Shampood my cargo area carpet to get rid of all the grease and oil back there. Smells like a new car, and I'm not really ok with that. :/

went to the shop today to watch the final bits and pieces go together, started it up, and it accelerated so fast that I had to shut it off quick....even tried putting it into gear, but no luck.

any thoughts???
Idles fast? If so its a vacuum leak. I would bet the intake manifold is not fully seated to the head.

if by idles fast, you mean runs like a lead weight is on the gas pedal....then yes.
intake is not seated correctly

hopefully not cracked now because of this

I only tried twice.

my factory intake was cracked, so they swapped one over from a 01 WJ.

is there any sensor that could be the problem?
I did that before, start it and it immediately revs and doesn't stop?
If so the intake isn't seated properly on the dowel pins. Loosen up all the intake bolts and rock it around until it falls onto the dowel pins.

nope, unbolt the intake and reinstall it making sure the dowel pins line up right

Think a 215/75/15 would work on a 15x8 wheel??? Or is the tire too skinny??

thanks guys, ill give it a shot in the a.m.
I had a tough time getting the intake to seat right on the dowel pins when I swapped the head on my buddy's XJ. Make sure the dowel pins aren't damaged. My friend's were damaged and I had to file a bit off the intake holes to get it to slide over them. Even a small air intake leak will make it run like you are holding it WOT.

How did the head/gasket look?

The head gasket was pretty nasty, but didn't have any cracks. They had a problem getting the new intake to mount to the dowel pins, and accidentally broke the end off of the mounting hole on the intake, I crawled under it myself, and could not find any leaks or holes, but It still make me wonder....and since they broke it they gave it to me for free.

The only issue I have now is that it has a bit of a high idle, and it is consistently getting higher, about 1k Rpms now, but I will keep an eye on it, I hope it's not because of the dowel pin mount being gone. Besides that it runs perfectly at operating temp, and has no problems.

Stopped to sit in it for a few minutes for the first time in a couple weeks. Super excited to get the new head in Saturday. I'll be ecstatic if I can manage to get the spacers/shackles and tires on too. As long as no bolts break taking the head out I think I can get all of it done. The exhaust ones shouldn't be too bad since the header is new anyway.
